How to deal with Dandruff? Causes, Treatment and Tips for Prevention

Dandruff is one of the most common scalp conditions which is characterized by flaking and itching and it is non-inflammatory in nature.           Tea Tree Oil has anti-fungal properties which can help in killing or inhibiting the growth of fungi and bacteria. Since Dandruff is majorly caused by Malassezia, a type of fungi, it can greatly help in the treatment.

          Study concluded that 5% Tea Tree Oil is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of dandruff. Not only that, but Tea Tree Oil also helps in the treatment of acne, lice and other such conditions.

          This an also an anti-fungal ingredient which is widely used in the treatment of Dandruff. It works against Malassezia fungi and provide relief from itching, flaky scalp and scaling. However, for the best result, it should be used twice a week in the initial phase of the treatment and later once a week to prevent dandruff.

          Look for Col Tar in your shampoo. It is effective in the treatment of dandruff and other hair conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis.

          While drying your hair with a hair dryer, make sure that you dry your hair to the extent of 80% and let the rest dry naturally. Not only will this avoid draining the moisture from your hair completely which can tangle your hair but also help in avoiding the damage to your hair.
